As Pharmacist-in-Charge, I led the design, staffing, and launch of our health system’s first entity-owned, open-door community pharmacy—strategically located adjacent to the hospital to maximize discharge prescription capture and improve access for employees. Over three years, daily prescription volume grew to more than 300, including 40–50% of employee scripts.
We started with 6 FTEs and expanded to 8 as volume increased by 60%. I introduced a med-to-bed delivery queue and smart locker pickup system to streamline fulfillment and broaden patient access. Working closely with HR and benefits teams, I helped redesign the pharmacy benefit strategy, resulting in $297K in annual employee savings. I also established a discharge prescription capture committee focused on high-impact 340B conversions, particularly targeting cardiovascular and diabetes therapies for high-risk patients. This initiative generated immediate financial returns while laying the foundation for long-term care expansion and 340B program optimization.

I led the design and launch of our health system’s first ambulatory care pharmacy clinic, built in under four months to align with the new benefit year. Developed during a national fluid shortage while I was covering Director responsibilities, the clinic focused on employees with high-cost conditions—like diabetes, heart disease, and those requiring specialty medications—where pharmacist-led 340B conversions could yield meaningful savings. We secured a supervising physician, built clinical workflows, and engaged providers to drive referrals and adoption.
To make the model operational, I partnered with our PBM to adjust benefit design and worked with IT to implement a CMS-qualified clinic structure within our EHR, including the necessary billing and coding workflows. Pharmacists conducted comprehensive medication reviews and directly facilitated prescription fills, improving adherence and reducing risk. This initiative not only generated over $1.8M in annual savings but also marked our health system’s first step into ambulatory care pharmacy—a critical expansion of pharmacy-led services that I continue to oversee today.

I’m developing a scalable, configurable data pipeline to unify pharmacy operations data across multiple disconnected systems. Current manual reporting is time-consuming and prone to errors, with inconsistent workflows for each report. This system standardizes and anonymizes diverse data sources—including transaction records, pricing, and payment reconciliations—to create a centralized, reliable foundation for analysis.
Using Python tools and JSON-based configuration for flexible schema matching, the pipeline cleans and organizes data before loading it into a SQL database. This enables efficient, repeatable workflows that improve data integrity and supports the future development of a centralized analytics platform, providing finance and pharmacy leaders with fast access to key metrics and trend insights. Early prototypes demonstrate its ability to handle complex, fragmented data across multiple programs.
